Momoko Hatano

Momoko Hatano is a Japanese Australian independent jeweller/designer and drawer. After completing her Fine Arts degree at the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales, she began working as a jeweller and product developer for one of Australia’s iconic jewellery and homewares companies, Dinosaur Designs. After working in the jewellery industry for several years, she merged her art, fashion, and design interests to launch her label.

Drawing inspiration from all facets of her life, including her travels, nature, contemporary art and everyday objects, she designs and handcrafts each piece in her Sydney studio.

Her jewellery has been worn by Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon, published in Frankie, Elle Japan and exhibited in prestigious galleries such as Object and Studio 2017. She has also given design talks at UNSW and various other educational institutions.

Momoko brings her dedication to maintaining traditional craftsmanship and skills in creating fine jewellery and her experience as an educator to her teaching at SquarePeg Studios.
