Majella is a jeweller, object designer and teacher based in Sydney. Majella sees herself as an urban hunter-gatherer. In her current work she uses familiar materials and takes them out of their context. Through re-purposing and up-cycling common materials are transformed into something wearable.
Through combining precious and non-precious materials she sees her work as a constant exploration and evaluation of what makes jewellery precious.
As well as being our foundation tutor at SquarePeg, Majella was a tenant for over 5 years and was involved in setting up the studio and many of our courses.
