My jewellery and metalwork work is inspired by personal history, flora and the Australian landscape. I have been making jewellery and small-scale sculptural objects for nearly 40 years exploring the traditional technique of Chasing and Repousse.
Drawing and photography have underpinned my practice where I often reference museum collections and diverse landscapes to inspire the creation of new metalwork.
I exhibit my work national and internationally and currently have a national touring exhibition as the JamFactory ICON 2024 Julie Blyfield: Chasing a Passion travelling until 2027. My work is held in national and international collections including the National Gallery of Australia and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
