Momoko Hatano is a Japanese Australian independent jeweller / designer and drawer. After completing her Fine Arts degree at College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales she began working as a jeweller and product developer for one of Australia’s iconic jewellery and homewares company Dinosaur Designs. After working in the jewellery industry for several years she decided to merge her interests in art, fashion and design to launch her own label.
Drawing inspiration from all facets of her life, including her travels, nature, contemporary art and everyday objects, she designs and hand crafts each piece in her Sydney studio. Momoko is committed to using Australian sourced and recycled silver and gold, keeping her collections refined, ethical and maintaining traditional craftsmanship.
Her jewellery has been worn by Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon, published in Frankie, Elle Japan and exhibited in prestigious galleries such as Object and Studio 2017. She has also given design talks at UNSW and various other education institutions.
