Learning pathway explained

The Jewellery Studio ~ Beginners and Beyond Daytime course consists of two terms: ‘Beginners’ and ‘Beyond’. This approach helps students gradually gain confidence and proficiency in their skills.

The first term, ‘Beginners’, provides a solid foundation, teaching fundamental techniques through comprehensive instruction and hands-on practice. Upon completion, students move on to the ‘Beyond’ term, further refining their skills and exploring advanced concepts. This two-term format ensures an optimal learning experience, enabling students to excel in their jewellery-making journey.

Students consolidate and expand upon their foundational skills in the’ Beyond’ term. They learn intricate techniques like tab setting, enhancing craftsmanship and unlocking new design possibilities. Additionally, students are introduced to rotary tools such as the flex shaft and micro motor for precise detailing. With guidance from the experienced tutor, students explore creative expression and refine their artistic voice. This dynamic learning environment empowers students to nurture their jewellery-making skills and prepare for Intermediate level classes.

  • If you are a first-term student – please enrol with our ‘Beginners’ ticket
  • If you are a second-term student – please enrol using our ‘Beyond” ticket. This class is priced a little lower to reward your loyalty – we are delighted you will return to learn with us again!

Why choose a jewellery making course at SquarePeg Studios?

Our courses are taught by highly experienced and passionate teachers who are practising contemporary jewellers. This is the closest to an accredited course – without the assignments, stress and cost – that Sydney has to offer. Students not only gain the satisfaction of designing and hand-making their own piece of jewellery they also have the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at a contemporary professional jewellery studio while learning great new skills in jewellery techniques and design.
