Danielle was a wonderful teacher! Incredibly knowledgeable and a great, calming energy to be around! She made sure to give each student the attention they needed, and answered every and all question (and there were many!) happily :). I love my final ring, and am so grateful for her help. I'll definitely be back!

— Jessica O, Happy Student

During our Intermediate One – Jewellery Making Course, students begin to expand upon their foundation jewellery making skills learned in their studies thus far. Practical exercises will be presented at the start of term which target improving student’s soldering skills, introducing 3-dimensionality to designs as well as a focus on resolved surface finishes – the fast track to creating professional looking jewellery pieces.

As the term goes on students in Intermediate One will create a more complex jewellery design in consultation with their tutor to further practice and finesse hands-skills learned.

Our class sizes are capped at 10 enrolments to ensure the best learning experience for our students.

Many of our students produce outstanding work and go on to our Intermediate and Continuing Jewellery Making Course or continue to our specialised design workshops such as Gem-setting 101 Bezel Setting Workshop or Carve Your own Silver Ring – Wax Workshop.

Our Tutors

Why choose a jewellery making course at SquarePeg Studios?

Our courses are taught by highly experienced and passionate teachers who are practising contemporary jewellers. This is the closest to an accredited course – without the assignments, stress and cost – that Sydney has to offer. Students not only gain the satisfaction of designing and hand-making their own piece of jewellery they also have the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at a contemporary professional jewellery studio while learning great new skills in jewellery techniques and design.

Danielle Lo

Danielle’s practice has a deep focus on presence and place, emulating forms of nature within her surroundings. The works are an intimate physical exploration of conceptual ideas, achieved through the use of shapes, form, line, colour and textural elements. Danielle predominately works in silver and enamel, using traditional silversmithing techniques Upon finishing her Advanced Diploma in Jewellery and Objects at Enmore Design Centre (2014), Danielle went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Jewellery and Object at Sydney College of Arts (2016) and has finished the JamFactory Associate Training Program (2018) in the Metal and Jewellery Studio.
