In the Gem Setting One – Bezel Setting Workshop you will learn how to incorporate cabochon stones into your jewellery by creating a bezel setting in tandem with a classic ring design.
Students make a ring in silver set with a semi-precious cabochon gemstone. All materials for this project are supplied as a part of the course outline. Measuring and constructing secure settings to safely house gemstones is the primary focus of this workshop alongside building upon your fabrication, soldering and polishing skills. The two-day workshop is very much process focussed with participants creating a classic ring design finished to a high standard over the two days of learning.
The Gem Setting One – Bezel Setting Workshop is suitable for students early in their jewellery making practice. Danielle’s practice has a deep focus on presence and place, emulating forms of nature within her surroundings. The works are an intimate physical exploration of conceptual ideas, achieved through the use of shapes, form, line, colour and textural elements. Danielle predominately works in silver and enamel, using traditional silversmithing techniques Upon finishing her Advanced Diploma in Jewellery and Objects at Enmore Design Centre (2014), Danielle went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Jewellery and Object at Sydney College of Arts (2016) and has finished the JamFactory Associate Training Program (2018) in the Metal and Jewellery Studio.
