ABOUT THE COURSE

In this class you will be given a project design brief at the start of the course, which will inform the initial research and help define your direction. This is very much a student-directed course so the brief is optional as you may prefer to develop your concept based on personal interests and ideas.

Research into your concept will be used as a trigger in the pursuit of finding an individual solution to generating ideas and designs. You will collect information through research, deduce a concise concept rational, sketch ideas and work through the step by step production process. You will learn to translate your sketches and ideas into three-dimensional mock-ups that then clearly defines the path towards a finished project.

This is a creative environment, where exploration, play and idea generation are central to the process of developing your own design language. The class will foster an open and inclusive discussion process that encourages students to share ideas and solutions with each other.
