I’ll be forever thankful to the friend who recommended SquarePeg jewellery courses to me. I did my first course at the beginning of 2013 and I’m still going! I just love making handcrafted jewellery and challenging myself to create more complex designs as my skill develops

Our Tutors

Why choose a jewellery making course at SquarePeg Studios?

Our courses are taught by highly experienced and passionate teachers who are practising contemporary jewellers. This is the closest to an accredited course – without the assignments, stress and cost – that Sydney has to offer. Students not only gain the satisfaction of designing and hand-making their own piece of jewellery they also have the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at a contemporary professional jewellery studio while learning great new skills in jewellery techniques and design.

Meet your tutor

Emily works with traditional jewellery making techniques as well as embracing new technologies such as 3D printing as well as forming using the hydraulic press. She completed her Advanced Diploma of Jewellery and Object Design at the Design Centre Enmore (SIT), after having previously run her own business. Emily is passionate about all things jewellery and loves the scope for constant learning which it provides.

She has shown work in many group exhibitions as well as presenting her work solo. Environmental and ethical concerns inform and motivate her works which meander through the design and creation of both jewellery forms and tableware objects within her practice.

Square Peg Studios has been a great stepping stone for me, from knowing nothing about jewellery making to landing a full time job in the industry in just half a year of classes. I attended both the weekly night classes and did as many weekend specialised classes I could.
